I dunno about the whole Oscar thing, I've seen some pretty ridiculous people (and movies) take home Oscars, so Al Gore taking one home isn't very surprising to me. :S
I think that the real problem in that picture is the look on his face, I mean yikes! If that's his happy face I'd hate to see his angry face. :)
Um, you do realize that's a doctored picture right? I couldn't find one at the time of the actual thing, but I sure hope he didn't look quite that horrible. And you're right about it not being surprising, everyone knows Hollywood is horribly liberal, but that doesn't make it any less ridiculous that a former vice president gets an Oscar for a PowerPoint "documentary" which is a bunch of hypothetical, fictional animations (Happy Feet might as well have been a documentary).
I guess the only surprising thing to me is that Babel didn't win best picture, thank God.
I am guessing that picture is of him being excited about something at some point in time, so you making it the "Oscar winning" time isn't that far off from the truth, right? lol. :)
I believe that him winning an Oscar for his "documentary" just goes to show that hollywood will stoop to ANY level to promote idiotic liberal thinking, even to give a "powerpoint presentation" an Oscar. I mean seriously, an Oscar?
It really is sad. Very, very sad.
It makes me want to do a "mock-you-mentary" (beats me if that's how you spell it.:). Ooo, fun, that's not too bad of an idea.

Seriously, the man puts Howard Dean to shame.

Yeah, I actually got the picture from this site which posted it before he actually won it. And yes, a mockumentary would be fun :-)
